The Journey to a
"Hoppy" Home
Every year, the SPCA rescues thousands of animals from different prosecution cases. The majority of the victims are dogs and cats but let’s not forget that small animals like rabbits can also easily fall prey to human cruelty. Ivy and Eggy are among the few lucky ones that were rescued by our Inspectors and are still waiting for their forever homes at the time of writing.
The Journey from Rescue to Adoption
Rescue
Animals rescued by our Inspectors will become evidence for the prosecution case.
Medical Examination
Injured or abused animals will be treated by our vets at our centres.
Prosecution
Every year, our Inspectorate team handles many suspected cases of animal cruelty and severe neglect. Offenders will be prosecuted if given sufficient evidence.
Adoption
At the SPCA, we provide behavioural training, medical treatment and daily care to the rescued animals during their stay at our centres but their homing journey can only start after the trial ends. The whole process often takes a minimum of 6 months and in some cases over a year.

The SPCA Inspectorate team handles dozens of prosecution cases each year which is an unbudgeted cost. With the increased inflation, our donation income barely covers the operational cost required to sustain our care for these animals. Please donate to help us care for these animals in need.
Ivy and Eggy are among the few lucky rabbits that were rescued by our Inspectors. They have now recovered from their trauma and at the time of writing, they are still waiting for their new homes. Come visit our SPCA centres to find out more about our homing animals.
Please "Adopt, Don’t Shop."
